August 9, 2021

With the release of State Directive 048 on August 4, 2021 by Governor Sisolak, Pershing County School District has been forced to update its mask requirements for the start of the 2021-2022.  The following is the most current mask guidelines for Pershing County School District.

  • Students are not required to wear facemasks inside any Pershing County School District building. However, students always have the option to wear facemasks inside district buildings if they or their family elect to do so. Students exercising their option to wear a facemask will be fully supported in their decision by district staff.
  • All school staff must wear face coverings while inside school buildings, regardless of vaccination status.
  • All students in Kindergarten through the 12th grade and all school staff must wear face coverings while on school buses.
  • Parents, vendors, volunteers, visitors and guests must wear face coverings inside school buildings and on school buses.

Per the District’s Reopening Plan, the temporary use of facemasks may be employed anytime during the school year as part of a multi-layered effort to end a localized outbreak of COVID-19 or one of its variants.
